High School Sports Awards
The Arizona High School Sports Awards, presented by Diamond Kitchen and Bath, is a nine-month athletic recognition program honoring the area’s top athletes, coaches, and teams. Nominees are selected and announced each season, leading up to a June awards show where winners and special awards are presented. The event includes a carpet walk, photos, an awards presentation, and an inspirational talk by a special guest professional athlete. In addition to the Sports Awards, Diamond Kitchen and Bath sponsors the AZ Sports Athlete of the Week which honors each weeks top high school athletes. Diamond Kitchen and Bath is proud to sponsor youth sports in Arizona, demonstrating their commitment to supporting local talent and community growth. Their dedication helps ensure young athletes receive the recognition they deserve while fostering the next generation of leaders.
Pro Athlete Guest Speaker!
Trey McBride, the standout NFL tight end for the Arizona Cardinals, was the guest speaker at the 2024 Arizona High School Sports Awards. He shared inspiring stories from his journey to professional football, offering advice on hard work, perseverance, and teamwork. McBride’s presence energized the event, leaving a lasting impression on the young athletes in attendance.
Courage Award Winner!
Diamond Kitchen and Bath was honored to present the 2024 Joanie Prall Courage Award to Alexa Wilde for her inspirational return to Softball after a 5-day stint in the ICU. During warmups to a club tournament game, she suffered from a blood clot in a vein to the heart that tucks in the first rib of the clavicle. Alexa was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome. After a long rehab process, she courageously returned to the field the following season, never letting her passion for softball fade. Diamond Kitchen and Bath presented Wilde with a $1,000 scholarship for winning the award. Joanie Prall is one of the founding members of Diamond Kitchen and Bath. She passed away in 2020, after a long health battle. She was a youth PE teacher for many years and was passionate advocate for youth sports.
